Giani

Paola's imaginative world often looks to the forms of architecture, which in her hands become intriguing and subtle metaphors for the real world. The apparent simplicity of the forms conceals a technical mastery in the perception of the balances underlying the creation of each form of architecture, imagined with ever-changing composite geometries. The shapes of the Giani are reminiscent of megalithic sites and Japanese torii that precede access to sacred areas, to the lintel portals of Renaissance architecture.
